Description
Seventy years since the introduction of the first square pizza, Buddy’s Pizza established itself as a Detroit original. The Sicilian-style square pizza began its legacy at Buddy’s Rendezvous Pizzeria on Six Mile and Conant streets in Detroit in 1946. The family-owned business now operates 11 metro Detroit area locations.
Buddy’s Pizza has a rich history of giving back in the community and supporting non-profits like the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, American Red Cross, March of Dimes, Karmanos Cancer Institute and more. Buddy's has launched pizza collections tied to its charitable campaigns, including the 2011 Motor City Pizza Collection, benefiting The Henry Ford, The Parade Company, The Detroit Zoo and Detroit Institute of Arts; and the 2012 Made in Michigan Great Lakes Pizza Collection, benefiting the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
In 2014, Buddy’s partnered with the Michigan Humane Society and found an alternate use for its unused handmade multi-grain dough. By repurposing it as an all-natural dog biscuit called Buddy Bones proceeds support the Michigan Humane Society.
